Ken Kennedy Institute Sponsored Graduate Fellowships

The Ken Kennedy Institute for Information Technology (K2I) is currently accepting applications/nominations for the graduate fellowships for the academic year 2018/19. To be eligible, the candidate must be a master or doctoral level student in good standing. See additional requirements for each of the different fellowships. (All fellowships are subject to availability of funds). Click below to see specific information, including award amount, about each fellowship:
- Andrew Ladd Fellowship (Computer Science students only)
- Ken Kennedy-Cray Fellowship
- Energy Industry Sponsored Fellowships
- BP Fellowship
- ExxonMobil Fellowship
- Schlumberger Fellowship
- Additional fellowships may be added subject to availability of funds
Applications due Monday, October 01, 2018 by 5pm. Late submissions will not be accepted.
Before beginning the submission process please make sure you have the following information available to upload in pdf format:
- Candidate’s CV
- Candidate’s transcript (the unofficial version available in Esther is sufficient)
- One-page summary written by the candidate that addresses:

- Short summary of research
- Professional activities and leadership
- Other extracurricular activities
- A letter of recommendation from a faculty member (typically the students advisor) addressing the appropriateness of the candidate. It is the applicant’s responsibility to ensure the recommendation letter is sent to the Ken Kennedy Institute. Letters can be emailed from the faculty member to k2i@rice.edu (preferred), be dropped off at Duncan Hall room 1084 or sent via campus mail to MS 39.
Once you begin filling out the one-page web form you will NOT be able to exit and re-access your information.
The selection committee will review each application package and determine the fellowship recipients based on the strength of the application and the relevance to the fellowship.
Candidates will be notified of fellowship decisions by the end of October 2018.
