Andrew Ladd Memorial Excellence Fund in Computer Science Fellowship

The Computer Science Department partnered with the Ken Kennedy Institute for Information Technology at Rice University to annually award the Andrew Ladd Memorial Excellence in Computer Science Fellowship in the amount of $5,000 to a well qualified graduate student in Computer Science. This fellowship has been made possible by the Andrew Ladd Memorial Excellence Fund in Computer Science, established in honor of the late Andrew Ladd by his parents Mr. and Mrs. Stuart Ladd, his sister Ms. Kelly Ladd, and his widow Ms. Fumiko Chino. Andrew Ladd excelled in his studies at Rice University and completed his Ph.D. degree in Computer Science in 2006.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Graduate student must be a student in the Computer Science department.
  • Candidate must be registered at Rice for the entire calendar year for which he/she is nominated
  • Fellowship amount: $5,000 disbursed as follows
    • Student: $5,000 (paid on top of current stipend).

The candidate selected to receive the fellowship is not eligible for other Rice fellowships.

Preference will be given to candidates who have already started their thesis research.

Please note, it is the applicant’s responsibility to ensure the letter of recommendation is sent to the Ken Kennedy Institute.  Letters should be e-mailed to k2i@rice.edu (preferred) or alternatively can be dropped off at Duncan Hall room 1084 or sent via campus mail to MS 39.
